The Alumni Association presents the Paul M. Hutcherson Outstanding Student Awards each year to a male and female student who demonstrates the highest ideals of citizenship through their accomplishments on campus or in home or community life.

Ms. Nicole Bronsted
Nicole Bronsted is a December 2012 graduate of the University of North Georgia from Blue Ridge, GA having majored in History with a minor in Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a cumulative GPA of 3.92. She was an active member of the Honors Program. Nicole volunteers with the Forsyth County Historical Society, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, PAWS, and other causes. She was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, serving on the Academic Activities Committee. Nicole studied abroad in Istanbul, Turkey and has published one of her works entitled Kaiser Wilhelm II: Psychohistory and Influence on 20th Century Europe in Etudes Historiques, which won first place in Social Science at the Annual Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference.
c/COL Michael Carty
Michael Carty is originally from South Florida. He is a senior at the University of North Georgia. He serves in the Corp of Cadets and has held many leadership roles during his student career. Michael is currently the Brigade Commander of the Boar’s Head Brigade. He is a member of SGA and serves on the Student Conduct Committee. Michael will graduate in August, 2013 and will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. His long term goal is to attend medical school and practice medicine.
The Alumni Association presents awards to male and female students of North Georgia College & State University who have exhibited by their personal conduct and behavior, as well as accomplishments on campus or in home or community life, those traits of personal character and human endeavors which reflect on themselves and their families an unusually high degree of credit and which also exemplify the highest ideals of citizenship encouraged of all students of North Georgia College & State University.
