Jeff Boggan joined the advancement staff of North Georgia College & State University in January of 2001, where for a dozen years he managed the fundraising programs of the university, and assisted with management of the university foundation. He has more than 25 years of experience in alumni and development work. Since the consolidation of NGCSU and Gainesville State College in January 2013 to form the University of North Georgia, Jeff now serves UNG as Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. Jeff is a member of the Executive Committee of the UNG Nighthawks Athletic Club. He recently served as a member of UNG's Strategic Planning Steering Committee, helping to develop a plan to guide the university for the next 5 years. He is a graduate of the University System of Georgia's Executive Leadership Institute.

Jeff came to Dahlonega from Banner Elk, NC, where he served as Senior Director of Development at Lees-McRae College. His previous service includes Director of Advancement and Chief Operating Officer of the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation in Charlotte, NC; Director of Development & Alumni Affairs at The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, AL; and Director of Alumni & Parents Programs at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.

Prior to his work in higher education, Jeff served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain. He then worked in municipal government for the City of Charlotte, NC.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Wofford College, where he was a Distinguished Military Student and a Distinguished Military Graduate. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

A native of western North Carolina, Jeff is the oldest son of a retired Methodist minister, and is an active member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. Jeff is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, GA, and a member of the board of directors for the United Way of Hall County where he serves on the community investment committee. He is a former member of the board of The Community Helping Place, Inc. in Dahlonega, as secretary and as chair of the board development committee. He has served on the board of directors of the Holly Theatre Community Center as a member of the finance & endowment committees. He was a founding member of the board of directors of the United Way for Lumpkin County (GA) where he chaired the Allocations and Agency Approval committee. He is a former chairman of Spartanburg AWARE, Inc. - the adult literacy agency for Spartanburg, SC. Jeff is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg (SC) and Leadership Lumpkin County (GA).

Jeff has served as a volunteer alumni relations consultant to several small colleges in the southeast, and as volunteer fundraising and board development consultant for several church and community organizations. He is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers (NACRO), and is past president of the Georgia Education Advancement Council (GEAC).

Jeff lives in Hall County, Georgia, with his wife Beth, and stepdaughter Madeline Maney.
